o2 sensor
Hi, i drive a 323ci. I wanted to change the 4 o2 sensors, 2 before the cat and 2 after the cat. But my car does not have o2 sensors, or at least is not where its suppose to be. but the wire where you connect the sensors are there. Did 323ci come with this set up? The reason i wanted to change o2 sensors is it smells like the engine is running rich; and my fuel consumption is not so good. pls advise. thanks

It appears that there were a couple of configurations of 323 and you did not mention your year. but the car definitely came with either three or four oxygen sensors. If there are no sensors in place on the exhaust manifolds and below the cat, then either there are plugs in those holes, or someone has replaced the manifolds and exhaust pipes and has installed a circuit that tricks the ECU into thinking that it has oxygen sensors. If that is the case, I would not expect that you have catalytic converters below the manifolds either.
