Hi i have a BMW 316i 2000reg E46, lets start from the start i had the EML come on and off i had the car checked and there was a lambda senser failer. had this replaced the light continued to come on and off. then i started to get loss of power and shuddering when pullking off the lost off power would go then come back once the car had warmed up for around 5 mins it would be fine. i changed the spark plugs, the lambda senser, the HT leads, the air filter, the oil filter and had a cam shaft senser replaced all in all around £600.00 worth of work. the car now keeps going into limp home mode after all that it still wont work the only code i have is the DME code the garage is now saying the DME needs changing does anyone agree with this?

Quick update i have only changed the front lambda sensor and not the rear im not sure how much trouble the lambda sensor would cause ie go into limp home mode.

This could be a problem with your throttle body or an associated component. Check your DME for fault codes using a BMW scan tool. Once you have the codes, you will have a good place to start.

The oxygen sensor should not turn on the EML light.
