V8 M3 as a long term ownership proposition?
Good morning. I’ve had a handful of BMW M cars and I’m seriously tempted by the E90 version but the well discussed maintenance issues are giving me some pause. I observed elsewhere that if this was a Ferrari no one would give it any pies, but it’s a BMW and there’s lots of hand ringing over the need for rod bearings and throttle actuator repairs.
I don’t want to blindly jump in but if I consider that stuff just part of the cost of running the car my thinking about it the right way? Anyone put over 100K on one of these here? Thank you. |

I have more than a few customers that have over that mileage on their E90s and they have been great.
Know that it destroys tires and fuel. and if you buy a dual clutch variant and the trans dies its not cheap

Thanks Colin.
Should I plan on preemptively do the rod bearings and/or actuators? |
