Hi I have a BMW 320i e90 2010 model, I drive about 10km and it started leaking oil. It dripped the whole oil until the engine was empty. As soon as the oil light flushed I pulled over to a garage and the car was towed to BMW. BMW told me it was the Chain Tensioner they replace but the car had no power, so they did the engine timing which after that there is now a strange noise. So they have suggested to trip the engine and check the block. Is this right? Is my Engine gone? I have done 140000km and to my surprise this is the second time replacing the chain tensioner.

If the engine was run low on oil, it is likely internal damage occured. I would allow then to inspect the engine to assess the damage.
