So, in all my poking around, looking for cool stuff for my car, Ive come across info about a "Super Eta". My tach goes to 6000, so does that mean I have a super eta? And what does this mean for me? I just got a chip from Dinan, someone told me that there are no gains to be had from this "Supa Eta"....I dont like the sound of that!

What year is your car? Does it just say 325 on the back?

Even tho its the 528e? And has the 6000 RPM tach? And the dual exhaust pipes? All of these I've been told are the signs of the Eta...

It could well have the eta motor, I've just never heard of it. I would agree that the signs do point to you having it in there, however im not sure. You may want to check the sticker on the inisde of the door jamb. This might give you a little more info as to the engine. You may also want to check the stickers inside the engine compartment. It is truer, however that there is not much you can do with this engine.

What would the stickers tell me? I mean, what should I look for? And as far as this Dianan chip goes, are ECu swaps very straight forward?

You actually have to open up the ecu and replace the chip on the board. It's not hard to do, but i dont reccommend you do it unless you have some electronics experience.
as for the stickers, there should be an indication if it's a super eta engine it should say sdo on the stickers |

I have a super-eta too. Dual muffler, around 127hp and ~170tq stock - when new.
Mine 'may' have an e-to-i conversion (or partial, who knows) that might give it a bit more hp - it certainly 'seems' faster than it should be. When I dyno it I'll now for sure.... Oh, and mine goes to 6k (rather willingly, I might add) and is a hoot b/w 3k and 6k. Not an i-engine, but definately fun - and paid for!! I've wondered about the chip thing too - some say chips improve the eta, some say they won't work at all on eta, some say they work but give no benefit... ymmv. Enjoy... Chip
