525 rear seat removal
My battery died and can't figure out how to remove the rear seat (at least I'm told it's in there). It's a 95 525i, does anyone have any suggestions before I rip or tear something.

WOW, I DID NOT THINK THE BATTERY HAS BEEN BEHIND THE REAR SEAT FOR YEARS. ANYWAY THERE USE TO BE A BOLT IN THE CORNER 3 13, SOME HAD SIMPLE LATCHES. THE SEAT PIVOTS AT THE FRONT WHILE THE REAR SWINGS FORWARD. I'D STILL CHECK THE BIG BLACK BOX ON THE STABOARD SIDE OF THE ENGINE BAY FOR A BATTERY!!!!

actually got it out easy once I paid attention, there are 2 clips under the front part of the seat that you pry with a flat blade. battery is 140.00 at dealer and needs to be of a vented variety, doesn't look like peilican carries them...

Ended up getting an oem battery exactly same as the stock one at BatteriesPlus for 89.00 US. Forget the dealer...

Oops,
Next time go to Autozone and buy a Duralast for $59US. Great warranty and it's vented! |

You may also want to look into the Optima batteries. I have one in my car. i believe they are the best batteries you can ever buy, period. They are a bit pricey, but well worth the peace of mind you get with them.
