Fuel leak on 1990 530i
Hi Guys
I am having a problem with a fuel leak on my dads 530i, it seems to be coming from the metal pipe just under the drivers side(U.K. RHD) rear bumper. I can see a corroded pipe, the pipe also had some white/pale blue fungus growing. Is this a common problem? What will be the quickest/easiest fix? Thanks

I'd need to know what the line is? A fuel line? Is it leaking fuel? Are you talking about the neck from the petrol filler?

Its not the filler pipe thats leaking. Its a pipe that comes out of the rear centre of the tank and bends up the offside of the tank (past the filler neck). It only leaks when the tank is full enough to bring the level above the level of the corroded bit of pipe.
If this pipe can be cut and replaced with plastic or rubber piping, the problem may be solved but I am not keen to cut it until I am sure this would be ok. Andi
