Auto transmission rebuild
Has anybody got a workshop manual for a zf 5hp18 autobox preferably ZF's own manual,or any other info.
My gearbox has the classic symptoms of slipping/going ino a false neutral after slowing down to crawling speed and trying to accelerate again. I've checked the oil and its up to level. Most tranny specialists want about 1600 to 1800 (British Pounds) -approx $3000 for recon. I'm competent enough as i've rebuilt Honda and Kawasaki engines in the past as well as Audi's, but auto transmissions are new. If i can get old of the manual i'm sure i could do a rebuild (i've been told that it is most probably the F drum and clutch pack which was modified by ZF. Any help gratefully appreciated. Mo |
