last minute update: ses light on
coolant low
new radiator (10000 miles old)

Is it smoking?

Low coolant and really poor performance are a sign of a blown head gasket. The engine starts to suck water and it runs bad. Other symptions are:

1) Bubbling in coolant overflow
2) Milky white engine oil
3) Severely fouled spark plugs
4) Lots of white exhaust, or even antifreeze dripping from the exhaust

If you get it fixed quickly, it's generally not catastrophic. The longer you wait, the higher the repair bill will be.

This isn't caused by bad gas. Sometimes these just go bad.

Im kind of thinking the same thing...

Maybe you should do a compression check. This can usually indicate if you have a blown head gasket. and run the codes on the car to see if there is anything wrong

Weird that you got the low coolant light. Sometimes cars don't make much sense.

Glad you got it back and that it wasn't something more serious.

a bad cam sensor wouldnt cause you to lose coolant..
