1999 528--premium fuel?
So, while waiting for our 528iT to be delivered I am wondering if it will need premium fuel. I use the highest octane I can in the 911 but am kind of hoping the BNW can use regular. Any opinions?

I suspect it is spec'd at 89 octane. 87 will work on road trips and if you don't hot rod it around town.

I tried 87 in mine and mileage per tank dropped 50-70 miles b/w fill ups.
380+miles / tank @ 87 ~22/MPG 460+miles / tank @ 91 ~25/MPG 18.5Gal fill ups on average over the past 6 months This is @ 80-85 highway and average MPH is currently 40.8. |

On every fillup I log:
miles gallons OBC MPG octane I have never seen a difference between 87 and 93 octane. I did notice a BIG drop in MPG on my 330 in Feb 2005 which is coincidentally the month I gave the car to my wife.
