under the hood noise
My 530 130000 miles developed some noise around alternator area, when running, more on the back side off alternator. Sounds almost like sucking noise with metallic tone.
Or this is maybe power steering pump? I have new belt, water pump, idler pulley. Any ideas?  thanks!

No check engine light?
There are two pulleys on that belt an idler pulley and a stationary deflector pulley. Is your dip stick pushed all the way down into the tube? Intake or vacuum leaks should throw a CEL code.

no check engine light..
both pulley brand new... dip stick good.... ....I`m pulling belt off tomorrow, to check alternator.

bad alternator!!!!
I found lots off debris, leafs in cooling tubing, this helped my alt. to die.
