Fault Code 1224 on 90 M20
Swapped out MAS and still getting code. Checked all intake hoses for cracks or leaks, checked coolant temp sensor etc. Now car dies immediately upon start up, any ideas, thinking maybe idle control valve?
 Vehicle is a 525 auto. |

Are you getting a good signal from the crank position sensor?

yep. check crank position sensor, should be 540 Ohm plus/minus 10% between pin 1 and 2.
Recheck your Ohm specs on the M20 engine, as the 540 Ohm I know from M30, M70 and M60 engine. But I assume it is the same for the M20 engine. Pin 1 and 2 on the plug are shown here, http://www.e32-schrauber.de/bmw/daten/elektrik/KW-Sensor_Stecker.png
