Brake kit

Hi - Been told I need new pads. I'm not a mechanic but I've replaced front and rear on an 80's Porsche but not BMW. Pretty straight forward? Also, thinking of doing all four and getting the Basic Brake Kit Pelican sells here - anyone use and like this kit? And finally, what the hell is a "rotor"? It comes in the kit and I'm sure I can figure it out but.....?
Many thanks

A rotor is a brake disc.

Yes, it's pretty straightforward.

Read these. The procedure is very similar on your car.
