the brake caliper rattle clip

I completed a FRONT Bearing/Rotor/Pad replacement today on my 2001 540I Sport (6 speed). All went well until I re-mounted the wheels. The brake caliper rattle clip is rubbing against the STOCK 17" wheels. Is this because the new pad is too thick and pushing the clip into the wheel? Obviously, the car still runs but who needs the chatter from the "rattle clip" against both front wheels.

Any comments, suggestions, etc would be appreciated.

Sounds like you installed the clip backwards. The pad thickness will make no difference.

I double-checked the clips and they appear to be on correctly. See Pictures

Can you get a clearer pic of it? The upper tang of the spring does not look like it's fully seated.
