i have a 1999 e39 brake pad light came on then next day went off couple of days later came on and stayed on checked brake pads a good 10 mill waiting for new sensor to arrive is it safe to put new one on if light stays on will it ruinin new sensor

Check that the sensor has not made contact witht he brake pad. if it has, the new sensor will wear just the same as the old one.
