Thanks for the immediate response, problem solved...1996 BMW 525i, left rare door was not completely closed. However I still have the issue not being able to open the right rare door. The door lock rod pops up and go down when using the key from the outside and the key switch from inside.
I suspect the actuator is faulty, just wanted some feedback from the SME before ordering the part.

Are you sure it is a 1996? I think there was no 525i in 1996.

Assuming it is a 1995, the lock and unlock signals are shared, so it is likely a faulty actuator, which if I remember correctly, is built into the latch.
