how do i find out if my car is a E32 or a E38. Its a 94 740i. thanks

Its an E32, E38 started in 95...

You have the last year model of the E32 but it is a transition model year because you have the 4.0L V8 engine that became the 740 in the E38 line for one year as well. There is a design flaw that this V8 engine has commonly referred to as the Nikasil Engine block problem. IF you don't know about this, go to www.koalamotorsport.com to read more about this issue.
