window fuse burning out on 733i BMW 1984

The window fuse keeps popping on my great old car. Also, it is now popping upon being replaced, and just when you turn on the key, power hits it, and pop. It's a 30 amp. Short somewhere. The windows work well and quietly, and on occasion, the fuse won't pop. But generally does.
Help!

Sounds like you have a short alright. I would check the switch, the window motor and the wiring. Fi the fuse pops the second you put a new one in, that would suggest that there is a power lead short somewhewre in the circuit. Im guessing it's probably the switch.
