Is there a ratchet type shifter for the 735?

I have a 1991 735 iAL and was wondering if there is a ratchet type shifter for the automatic transmission?
I put the switch in manual mode for the shifting and found that when I shifted manually there is no stop, so I could shove it all the way up to neutral.
Any one know of a shift that acts like a ratchet or has those slots to prevent that from happing? PLEASE let me know.

Are you talking about something like a B&M shifter for muscle cars?

no, I thought I heard some one say that one of the 740 had a shifter that would work like a racthet style shifter. I want to keep it looking stock (hopefully)

Sounds like he wants it to lock-out @ drive, and not go beyond. Mine won't let me "slop" into neutral, from any forward gear...

Angry You guys dont get it!

If you’ve ever built a Hotrod you know what a ratchet shifter is and does. You can slap the shifter from first to second with out it going all the way up to natural and from second to third without it going all the way up. Do you under stand now?
This is the type of shifter I’m looking for. Some one said they might have a stock version similar to this.

we all come different backgrounds.....lets all just get along and help each other out.....I have no clue to be honest, but I have only been a 740i owner for about 3 weeks. I come from the dark side. I am also a 911 owner and rebuilt my Porsche with the help from Pelican. so I have the utmost respect for the people using Pelican. I just wish the personal slams would go elseware....like a bar or a family reunion.

I didnt see it as a personal attack, however it seems a bit strange to choose a 7 series as a car to drag with.

I have a boss that drags anything. he travels extensively, so what he does is take his rental cars out on the track. It beats sitting your hotel and watching CNN all day. I guess I just read a bunch of posts earlier that had a bunch of slams on them.....no hard feelings....I hope this forum gets enough attention as the Porsche forums...they were/are very helpfull!!
