1985 735i won't start after wash

so, my uncle gave me his 735i, so I decided to was it so I could have it looking nice when I went to get the new tags. Now it won't start, it turns over fine, but it won't start. I pulled one of the plugs and there is spark. What else should I do.

Also there is some sort of vacuum on the drivers side on top that won't stop running, but if I pinch the line it stops, does anyone know what it is for ??

Thanks,

Perry

I suspect it is a problem like the early E36 and a clogged drain in the ECU box or other electrical compartment is your problem.

I pulled the DMA and it was clean and dry and looked like all the connecitons were good. It could be a fuel pump or relay correct? How would I check them?

What other electrical compartments would affect this ?

Thanks

Sure a fuel pump could cause a no start. You should be able to hear the pump run up to pressure when you turn the ign to ON before you turn to START. But also check to see if the plugs smell like gasoline. If the pump is not running then check for power at the pump then at the relay.

Another electrical components could be the crankshaft sensor.
