89 635csi brakes

I just picked up this car to use as a daily driver and it needs rear brakes. Is there a spec for the rotor thickness, or is it recommended to change rotors with pads. Also, it tracks well, but the steering is little sloppy at the center. It will get caught in road grooves and wander some. Is there an adjustment to the steering that can tighten it up? Is this car rack and pinion?

BMW recommends changing rotors with pads. I never do. I let them go until they hit min spec which is stamped on the rotor hub. Do not resurface them.

The wander could be alignment or worn suspension or even worn steering bushing. I would have the front suspension checked and replace as much as you can afford then have it aligned.

Thanks for the reply. I have been searching for a parts and info source. Is there a recommended website?

Pelican has good prices on parts.

Realoem.com is a great source for part numbers and diagrams.
