hi, i have a 2000 740i sport m62/5hp24. ive only had it a few months and it has 179k miles. a couple things, first, the ABS/DSC light has been on since shortly after i bought the car,,my SES light was on for bav auto scanner says 'steering angle sensor' and secondary air pump" i havent bothered to worry... now, if i push the car anything harder than 'normal' randomly i will have a 'trans fail' and all guages go dead and lose 50% power steering. shut off restart, NO SES light at all, and everythings fine again. battery tested 12.5v/13.6 loaded, im hearing thats too low and may be the problem. 2nd problem ive had since i had the car is the common "skip" or light 'surge/miss' at constant or very light acceleration about every 3-5 seconds. to me it feels like the computer and the torque converter arent in agreement with each other. if i use sport or manual steptronic mode, all is well because im under the impression those modes do not allow the TV to lock at all..is it safe to assume i have a bad TV? im going to start by fluid filtran filter change. also as part of the trans issue, it has actually slipped 3 times in 4 days,,one of those is when i lost guages/50% power steering. please help.

Address the fault codes that are stored, do not ignore them.

trans safe indicates a fault in your transmission. I would scan the DME and trans ecu and see what is stored.
