Lennies Leukemia Head shave.
Hi guys,
This is for the Aussie board members. We are trying to raise funds for the Leukemia Hair Colour or Shave day the 14th March 2003. I have volunteered myself for a hair shave to raise funds for this good cause. We are doing this in the restaurant in the evening. My head chef has volunteered as well so we hope to raise some good funds. Any offers for a donation can be sent via cheque to The Metz PO Box 1498, Launceston TAS 7250 Australia. and made payable to "Leukemia Foundation" Cheers and thanks in advance. I will post the before and after photos next week.

I guess I am going to have to get it done now as Trublue sent a cheque for $50.00.
Thanks Trueblue and Crystal for the donation.

Well, I finally got it done.
We raised $1,900.00 for the night for 4 of us to get skinned. Trublue tossed in a $50.00 so it will add to the pot. The employees tossed in $500.00, we matched it and we had a 13 year old raise $50.00 on his own and registered ahead of time. The local afternoon radio jockey raised $1,300.00 as well. So all in all it was a good night. Sorry Joe, but here are the photos. It feels real good to tell you the truth. Well I am off to work for now. Not too many bad comments please, remember my self esteem.

Well,
What can I say. I washed my head of the shaving gel and went to wip it dry. The towel stuck to my head just like sandpaper. I went for a ride today and found when you shave your head, the next day there is a very short stubble so the helmet sticks to the stubble. Makes it hard to get comfortable. Had a good ride via the east coast to Sorrell and caught up with Fast Frank and then on to Baskerville raceway. Had a bumpy but good ride home. I just had a shave and went over the top as well. I am getting used to this and once it is a little tanned I can walk around without the hat. ckcarr, Lennie and Mark are one and the same. Mark Lennon became Lennie the Modifier and then on to Lennie for the shortened Australian nickname.

Lennie mate,
Well done with your fund raising. You look more like a Tasmanian every day. Tell me, did you get double for having both of your heads shaved? M Motor

Micky,
I actually saw a postcard with a map of Tassie with a two headed guy saying, "with two heads, it makes us twice as smart". I gotta question that one. They are real nice people, and like the "bad" weather they have down here, the two headed joke is to put people off moving down. I went into the post office and saw my mate Peter behind the counter. I just got off the Gilera and had Alyces' (wife) helmet on my elbow. I had just picked up a new helmet and told Peter, "I think I have finally been accepted as a Tasmanian". He asks "why is that ? ", I reply, "well I just bought a new helmet and they gave me two." He just laughed and said, "Welcome fellow Tasmanian." Right after I had my head done, the Wife and Mum and I went off to see the "Puppetry of the Penis". My eyes watered the whole way through. I got back to work and got behind the bar to serve some folks and low and behold, here were the Puppetry boys asking for a beer. They told me it takes a lot of practice and warming up to be able to do some of the things they do. Some of our young guys were amazed to meet them and complained the Puppetry boys got paid to do what our young guys do when they are drunk. I told them the old wives tale of "you go blind doing it" was urban myth. I pointed out one of the 2 had been doing the show for over 2 years and could still see.
