I have the footage, and have converted it to DVD. If anyone is interested, I could make some copies.

I have it on Video also but would love a DVD to go on the wall with the other stuff.

D-day,
Check your pm box for my earlier message. I'm going for the DVD. Thanks to everyone for leading the technological trail on this one and I trust there are many others downunder and elsewhere around the planet that have been able to download the race. Unfortunately all this Kazaa/FTP stuff has led me to a dead-end. A complete waste of time. I'm the first to admit the problem most likely is me, but there you are! I'd be thrilled to get to watch the race via a more pedestrian technological medium like a DVD. My communications engineer buddy here in OZ says it's the best way to go - at least for a clutz like me. My suggestion of a wheelcap as a swap stands. Thanks John |
John
If you want to give it another try. Type ftp://67.86.78.196/ in address bar. and hit go. when it prompt's you for user type in R1100s and put in burnout as password if you don't get the login promp... right click on empty screen and scroll down to login and click.... then fill in the blanks...........The file is PBEEMER.....116mb file... I'll leave this up for a couple more days. This is a very compressed WMA file (media player) Could someone check to see if it's still working and ck. download speed .......TIA Joe |
Joe,
Still no go. I've tried a couple of FTP progams, but site cannot be located. The last one I tried says " . . .the gateway could not find the IP address of the Web site you are trying to access." Thanks anyway. Bring on the DVD D-Day. Name your price. Johnny - Frustrated in Oz |
Hi Joe,
it is working for me, though I do get kicked out occasionally. So I currently have half the file and I will persist and see if I can get the rest. Thanks Frank |
Thanks Joe, excellent!! :D
Around 500kbps to my office, will try my 10Mbit broadband at home tonitght and se if it's any better. I would like to try the 2Gig MPEG for shure! SmileWavy |
For you guys with good download speeds .I put up the raw video in mpeg 2.... file sizes(400mb-1.5gig) are split into parts Daytona1-4 sorry audio is a little low.;)

Too cool Joe! :D
Daytona part 1 is on its way. 3% so far http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/fles.gif |

Hi Joe, this is all very kind of you :-)
Currently my ip is not allowed in (i've got autoresume and maybe i been hammering your ftp)? However, i think i problaby got it all? At work i got DAYTONA part 1.mp2 1630725 KB DAYTONA part 2.mp2 381674 KB I think i finally got no 3 and 4 at home but i will check that in a couple of hours :) Very cool though, the sound is a bit noisy, but i've got a Audigy soundcard with realtime noise cancellation that keeps the noise at a quite low level! I'm thinking of mirroring the files here in Europe if someone is interested, and if it's ok by you, Joe Thanx again! |

I blocked an IP because it was pinging me 100's of times but not downloading anything so I blocked it. Send me your IP via PM if it's yours I'll let it in. Sure send it around let everyone enjoy the race. |
Joe
Ok, i've got them all! Thanx once again :D |
Joe,
Thanks for trying but no luck whatsoever downunder. At least as far as I'm aware. Any chance of getting a DVD from someone? Or even a VCD, which I believe is an early form of DVD anyway and compatible with most DVD players. D-day seems to have gone quiet on his earlier offer on the DVD (or maybe just gone walkabout) so's I would appreciate anyone's help on this one. Sending an SAE is not practical from Oz but I'm prepared to otherwise cover the cost of the DVD/VCD and freight. Alternatively, I'd be glad to arrange a swap such as a wheelcap which I can have Haynes ship over from here. Just a thought. Thanks John |
John
Send me your address. Is the Standard NTSC or Pal for video there? |
Joe,
I've sent you a PM with the details. Many thanks John |
