My friend, Dan Shedd, known here as BMWR502, has passed away. Dan and I met on this forum several years ago after he moved to St. Louis from Arizona. We had many fun day trips and a few Falling Leaf Rallies together.

Although I have not been as active here in recent years, I know Dan remained a positive contributor. I was reminded by a mutual friend to let his friends here know. I know his Father is also a BMW rider and would likely enjoy hearing from those here who were touched in some way by Dan's enthusiasm for the brand and penchant for helping others.

Dan changed many tires for me, and helped me diagnose and solve so many other mechanical conundrums with my 1100S. I will miss him dearly, and am frankly at a loss on how to process his passing and how to move on. These past few months have been so difficult for so many, and I feel so terrible for his family and his many other friends.

He was flying with his friends and was planning on riding his R1200C back home.

Oh Crap! Dan was a super nice guy... I interacted with him a lot, both here and on FB. My son and I met him in Missouri on a ride once. Thanks for letting us know.

Have you heard if Falling leaf is going to be happening this year? My Brother has relocated and hopefully we will make it, if they have it.

My understanding is that it's still on- but it's moved to a new location.

RIP. He made good, informative posts. An R50/2 was my first motorcycle ridden or owned so his name always caught my attention.
