Weakness...

I think that everyone has a weakness or more especially during cornering (yeah you racer boy..) i.e excessive braking, false judgement of entry speed etc.

The question is:

1. What's your weakness in cornering?

2. What can you do to correct it?

taking the apex too soon

this is more of an issue on roads i dont know as well, but having to readjust midturn sucks, especially when you know what a perfectly taken turn feels like at speed. as for entry speed, i usually take them too slow, not too fast, so it can be a joy accelerating all the way through.

but one thing i do not do (unless i know i need or want to) is brake. typical routine is accelerate to turn entry, tap front brake with middle finger, even if i barely nipping any speed off, turn in the bike and accelerate through. trail braking is not in my nature, but i do it on occasion. worst-case scenario, i am comfortable using the front brake in tunr if i make a mistake, but only to take a tad off the speed, never used aggressively. in fact if i go in way too hot, i usually make the corrective measure prior to entering the turn, i.e. down shift real hard and slide the rear out to scrub off speed and throttle through it.

of course the most pucker-factor moment within recent riding was when i went in way too hot and had to hit the brakes hard, lifted the rear for several feet, came back down slid the rear back and forth but then turned into the turn and took it gracefully. although my a$$ was suction-cupped to the seat, i felt like a superhero after pulling that manuever off without incident.

1.
Can't drift both ends through a turn ............like I use too.

2. Track time............. this is stuff that shouldn't be done on the street.
