K1200 Bar Request

Folks. I have two requests.

1: Can any K1200RS owners amongst us do me a favor and measure the upper portion of their forks with a micrometer for me if they happen to have one handy?

2. Does anyone have a set of K1200RS bars out there for sale? if so, how much green?

I've been searching for a while on the net and all I've ended up with his a headache.

Thanks.

1.378",and I'm not sure what you're refering to on "Bars".The KRS has a set of knuckles that the bars affix to.The knuckles come in 3?general sizes. The "early's" or original knuckles that are the most foward. Then sometime around '00 they went to a little more back(closer to rider),and if I ain't mistaken you can get a 3rd factory knuckle thats even more "relaxed"(closer yet to rider). The bars then affix via an adj. grid to the knuckles.I had the whole frontend off my KRS and was dickin around and the top clamp off an S will fit on the KRS,but the keylocking stops are different. Also the knuckles on the KRS are "pinned"with a bolt from underneath that top clamp.I think the knuckles are @60$ a pair. And most KRS dicks replaced early's with second gen.so there should be a bunch of them avalible used.Don't know about the bars($).

Thanks. I was referring to the whole ensemble - knuckles and bars. I'm not concerned about where knuckles or (on my S) the bars "lock" into the fork tops. After years on Ducatis, I still chuckle and the BMW obession with rotational stops on clipons. While a great safety idea, they really limit bar position to what some committee decided was "optimal" in germany. Most Ducs and UJMs just use pinch bolts. Besides, (assumig properly tightened), if thos clipons come loose due to the severity of a tank slapper or whatever, I have bigger things to worry about then rotating clipons ; >. After spending some time looking at how to make my S into something closer to a KRS for longer-distance touring, I'm starting to think that the cost would quickly approach any gap in a trade for my '01 S against a 00'-01 KRS yet still lack the adjustability of the K and the engine, etc. Thanks again.

Not sure where you are going with this, but it looks like the k12 bars will fit on the S - at least from this shot currently on ebay.
