O.K. so what does this do for the ergos, sit more up right?, set the dreaed weight over the front wheel ratio back a bit, farther away, back, from the front wheel>?
higher and back? yes?
Kinda RT like?

Much more upright, but still a slight forward lean. I find I can flex my arms and lean forward a bit to quicken up the steering if I want, but it steers fine in the new position.

I have an RT as well- nowhere near as "sit-up-and-beg" as the RT (In fact, I am experimenting with some adjustable bars to get the RT's ergos lower and more forward- right about where the dog's are!!!

Acid dude, hit my link and it 'splains...(I need t fancify my page...)
They are not for everybody, but everyone that's got them likes 'em.
That said, figure about 1" back from OEM comfort (touring) bars and maybe 3/4" up.
You'd probably not like them on your BCR, too radical a change.

Rapid, are these for SA models or Preps?

Thumbs up Can do...

Acid,
I originally designed these for my '01 SA. It's a turnkey solution.
With the Preps, BCRs, and sport-bar bikes, they can still be used, albeit it will really change the ergos more than on the SA.

I believe low-bars without ABS will need a brake hose.
One guy (Chris) changed out his throttle cable on his BCR, though I'm not sure it's necessary.

"To go from "low bars" 1100S to "high bars"' 1100S, must purchase BMW accelerator cable p/n 3273-7659-680 $22.00 retail. Will have to remove side panels and fuel tank. May/will also need to re-route the fast idle (choke) cable under the alum. front fairing support bar for proper turning clearance of cable. There is also a little plastic support (swivel) you can get from BMW that connects the choke cable to the clutch cable where they cross each other down by the alum. front fairing support bar. This can also probably done with a cable tie."

If you click the link below and sroll down to the install instructions there are some answers (I know, I need to spruce up the webpage!)

I'm surprised at how many low-bar guys, even Boxer Cup owners are going with the backs...heck, even SMan is getting a pair!

Well, I'm a BCR owner but getting old and hence tired of under the triple clamp clip ons. I guess the ergos will be dramatically different if I move the bar backs on top of the triple clamp from their position below, but are planning on starting out with mounting them below the triple clamp. That should still give me a noticeable distance up and back.
I was wondering about the consequences of moving the tubes up enough to mount the bar backs on top of the triple clamp, but thats not to worry about it seems from an earlier post.
Best Regards

It's the best mod for R1100S. No doubt. Factor in going to Spiegler and ordering 75MM longer than stock top brake line. You will love it. Your bike is a true beauty!!

Only consequences are you can position the bars/barbacks where you want them.

NO issues at all in doing it, and if the BCR is ABS, stock brake lines work no problem.

Randy, how about something for the R12S? You could apply almost the exact same solution only turn it on it's side. time to write a new CNC program man, you must be running out of R11 customers! Here is a visual starting point which I am sure you can improve on!
