I hope I can get an answer w/o openning a CAN OF WORMS...,
When I had my '00 R1100S, I installed the full Remus system (no cat) and their recommended Wunderlich(?) chip. All was good in the world. Now have the "04 R1100S, again full Remus, no cat, am going to install the San Jose BMW Power Filter... but no chip is available that will match the Remus. How will the Power Commander from San Jose work with the stock chip? Would I be better off waiting to see if an eprom chip comes to market? Not looking for top-end blahblahblah-huge HP/ quarter mile anything... want to fatten up the mid-range and remap the motor to fully utilize the improved breathing and exhaust. Power Commander can be set-up for different mods and needs. What do ya think?! Thanks for any constructive input

Where are you located? If you are close to SJBMW, go there and get a custom map burnt for you or the PCIII will also do the trick. To take full advantage of the mods, you need a good map. Screw horsepower, drivability and clean throttle response is what it is all about.........but some on this board will disagree.....

Talk to Chris at SJBMW. He's made many maps for the Power Commander that he adapted to the bike, and your setup sounds like one he'll have a map for. The PC is intended to work with the stock chip, it just replaces the signal to the injectors with whatever you program. He used a PC on my bike to offset the midrange, midthrottle lean condition to cure a pinging problem I had.

I am on the right coast. No where close to SJBMW! I will give them a call tomorrow though. Can the PC be owner installed, or best to have dealer install? Thanks! Why is anyone up at this hour?? I can't see anymore...nite

Thanks guys. I ordered the Power Commander set up/mapped for my bikes mods. Apperantly a PC is needed to install, so I will have the dealer do it at the 12K service, since the bike will be apart and I'll drop in the SJBMW PowerFilter and AirDuct at this time. Better intake, better air flow with the Hi-Flow K&N Power Filter, full Remus exhaust, and the Power Commander to tie it all together and re-map the electronics. Should be the hot set-up. Thanks again for the help.
