that is story so true. BMWNA Customer Service is so crappy that you have to threaten them to leave the brand in order to get something that should easily be covered under warranty. It is always their position that YOU are the one at fault.

I wonder if the people at All-Sports BMW in Grand Junction have seen the letter? I'll have to drop off a copy since they are only a block from me. They, at least, were complimented a little.

Two years ago on a long ride, I wound up in Colorado with a back tire that was shagged about 2000 miles earlier than I anticipated.

I called the BMW dealer in Fort Collins, explained my circumstances and asked if they could make the time to replace my front tire. They said they were just too busy. I explained that I was 1500 miles from home and just needed a tire. They said no.

I called the dealer in Grand Junction and they explained that they too were very busy but if I arrived early, they'd swap out the tire. And they did. I appreciated that.

The old owner in Ft. Collins (may still be the owner) at the old site on 287, was the most customer unfriendly person I'd met in a BMW shop. It may be new owners now.

I think some of this old attitude is something BMW has been trying to weed out.

I got's to say, it looks to me as if anybody can glean anything positive out of this mess it's the DEALERS that tried to help him. That's somewhat comforting. I realize they are under the thumbs of those that "set policy". But, it's the folks that were closer to the end of the food chain that really went out of their way to help him. (for example the guy that stayed 2 hours late to help transfer all of dude's accessories (lights, radar dectector etc.)

I personally know of a situation in Atlanta where a mechanic tossed a friend of mine his truck keys and said "Go get a room and come back tomorrow" after a harrowing experience on I-75 that left him with two flat tires, a busted rim and holes in his motor on a K-GT. No a bad gesture for a total stranger.

I pray I only encounter foks that classy in my travels.

I'd say, Beware! of not incorporating meditation into one's life.
.
"Enlightenment means the end of suffering." is not a true statement.
Enlightenment means the end of resisting the suffering (unfortunately).
Only then can life's lessons be learned.
.
And now back to discussing life's habit of abandoning us and how we respond/react to same.
.

I just left Denver BMW in Aurora after a stop this morning to get replacements for my shagged MEZ6's. Replaced with MEZ4's. Called yesterday at 3PM, they said bring it in early and be a little patient and they would get it done. In at 0900 out by 1100. Friendly people, good selection of goodies on hand and a nice lounge. Who could ask for more? There is no place in today's business enviornment fo shoddy customer service. The Darwin principle will be upheld!
