Windscreen & Tail Lamp Lens Polish

What are y'all using to polish the windscreen and taillight lens? I'm not talking spray-on-to-make-pretty polish, I'm talking buff-out-minor-imperfections polishing. This week, on top of 31K miles of dings and bugs, my windscreen developed a mysterious scratch. I think it would polish out, but I seem to recall reading in the owner's manual not to polish the windscreen. Any product recommendations and tips appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Oh, almost forgot - those "Sontara" cloths are the schizzle, too.

And I have no financial interest, just another satisfied customer, etc etc etc

I really like Can-Do for the whole bike. It was recommended by the people at Foothills BMW.

This is one of my deals - a must have...clean shields, glasses etc.
.
I use Meguiar's Mirror Glaze products simply because I've accumulated them over the past many years.
They seem to do an OK job, I guess.
On the scale of abrasiveness, most to least - of what I have, anyway: #17 (M-1708), #10 (M-1008), #18 (M-1808).
'Not sure why the non-sequenced numbering, but there it is.
.
For serious work, I have two dedicated 8" buffing wheels that I use - stored in zip lock bags.
I've been known to remove windscreens to buff out the more severe scratches.
Even get after my many pairs of Dr. Dean Edell 1.25x magnifier glasses w/plastic lenses using the wheels.
.
Lots of great products out there, but this is what I have 'n use at this time.
.
Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish (G-12310) looks interesting.
.

.
Best,
.
ps For bugs 'n grahdoo, etc., I drape a wet chamois/towel over my screens 'n face shields to soften/remove prior to any cleaning/polishing.

I got this stuff from the flyboys too, 'Plexus'. It seems to be mildly abrasive, but I'm not sure how I'll do on bigger scratches. Works great for a daily facesheild cleaner. I've seen it in some universal MC parts catalogs, and in the hangers.

Jeff,
your you question sounds like you are looking for a buffing or polishing compound.... the stock shield has a very thin film that is not meant to be polished.... if you buff the sctratch out, you will end up with a circle where you polished through the film layer much like sanding through a coat of primer... if you want to polish out the scratch you will have to polish the whole screen and remove that outer layer.... I used some 3m polishing compound, with my buffer that I use when painting, on a screen and got very poor results.... I have some meguires mirror glaze that I am going to try... but think a new screen will be the best option.
