I HATE New Year resolutions, but i LIKE making lists
I hate new year's resolutions, but i like setting and achieving goals.
Please feel free to add your own. Maybe we'll all benefit. Here's my list for 2005: * Go riding with Gerhardt. This might be more towards late-summertime, but i'm really looking foward to it! * Participate in 3 consecutive group rides where everybody has a great time. * Take my bike more places! The poor thing went from Germany to New Jersey, to Florida to SoCal. I've only ridden it in CA and NV. It needs to get out! * Wave to more riders. When in SoCal, the j-model sportbike guys wave. When i go to Central CA, the harley guys wave. I'm thinking of waving to dang near everybody. Maybe it will start a trend. * Get more friends to adopt the Hats Off System I've been a solid supporter of this system since it came out. I think it's worth the effort. * Continue to find things that make my rides safer. Some of you guys grind me about spending bucko-bucks on my impending carbon fiber wheels, which i feel "make me safer". as fellow race-based riders like jonyrr know...buying an extra quarter-inch of "flickability" can make the difference. four grand is cheap! i see it as being penny-wise. have ya priced a day in UCI lately? * Do some track days. It doesn't matter if I squid and wallow around, every track day is worth it's weight in gold. I'm not there to "race", i'm there to sharpen my pencil. * Get that Dymax carb sync do-hickey. inconsistent idle is driving me nuts. so is the increased bar vibration. I'm hoping that for $100 with shipping....i can solve most of that. *Pay more attention. Most of my mistakes come from not being on top of things. I need to concentrate on concentrating. And you? What can you add to the list that will give me/you/us safer, longer, better, more valuable rides in 2005? ...brad

*Stay on 40mg Prozac/day. (depression is not fun, but mania is worse)
*Stay off alcohol. *Remember that an S is NOT a nuclear reactor, nor nearly as complicated. *Remember that in the dark they all feel the same, so keep the one you've got and don't spend too much time looking at others. *Remember that speed limits are actually there for a reason, and just because I don't know the specific reason is no reason to exceed the number. *Watch for DEER. *When the S.O. asks to go for a ride on the S, drop EVERYTHING else and go.

--Go 6 months without having a conversation with Officer Friendly.
--Go on at least 3 group rides where I don't make a spectacle of myself. --Find a rr tire that lasts more than 8,000 miles and is worth riding to Canyon Lake. --I will try to remember that infractions for speed limits that are pure b*****t are just as costly as breaking limits that make sense. --Remind myself, even though I can not ride like Brad, I can still really enjoy myself. Later, BB ![]() PS: Brad, I got a Snow White & the dwarfs Christmas ornament that plays the sound track from your California riding vid--every time it plays I think of you! |

Very good points indeed; although it'll be that probverbial cold day when my wife wants a ride ON the S as opposed to a ride IN the 911.....

I'll settle for not crashing for another 50k.
