I'll bet firebolter can speak more on this, but enough radiated energy down a sufficiently narrow beam-path, and there goes the offending vehicle's CPU, and perhaps the human heart inside the vehicle. Birds fall out of the sky within 2 miles of a navy aegis cruiser's radar when it's on 'high'....thus my many-years-long interest in EMP.
