Peter,
when you come bring two nipples for the tubes at the bottom of your throttle bodies. Look at where the lines come in at the bottom of the throttle body and you'll set it. Ask the BMW dealer for the nipples. They use them on airheads as well and cost less than a buck. cya Jeff |
forgive my stupidity--although i understand what a throttle body is/does, i do not know where it is. although this goes against all my male genes, could you please give me directions?
hanging head in shame peter |
Peter,
don't worry these sites will help. these have no pictures. http://www.ibmwr.org/r-tech/oilheads/R11Manual/Oilhead_Maintenance_2-25-02.pdf http://www.ibmwr.org/r-tech/oilheads/index.shtml Here are some landmarks. Those thing that stick out of the side of the engine are the cylindars and heads which have inside them the valve train,(valves, lifters, camshaft, cam chain and tensioner, pistons, rings, conecting rod, ect. Now look on the left side ofthe bike,(clutch handle side). you will see the exhaust pipe sticking out the front and the throttle body sticking out the back. You will know it because it has a black plastic box,(TPS), on the side of it. Look below the throttle body and near the front of it and you will see the tube that covers the spicket that you need to get a cap for. cya jeff |
heh heh, Jeff said "nipples"...heh heh!

and "heads, train, rods and 'sticking out' and tubes".
