Ha, I'm selected and will get a v.i.p. treatment during the Dutch pre-introduction of the R1200S. So i'll actually get to see what I purchased in the flesh!

having sat on a K1200R, I'm not so sure I'd be going back to a twin. Since I have so much of a monetary investment in my R-S, it's easy to justify not selling, but if I already stepped up to a new-motored K, I'm not sure I could stand such a decrease in performance. That black K you had was sweet, dude.

I took the K1200S for a demo ride and as awesome, smooth and powerful it was I missed the twin's low end torque and feel. It seems the same way when I ride others GSXRs, R1s etc. All sweet rides but I've been conditioned to the twins whether Harley, BMW or Ducati. Even the Asian V-twins are more enjoyable than the 4s. That's just for me. I hope I can resist taking the R1200S for a demo ride when it's out cause I'm sure my life will feel incomplete without it.

hmmm . . .maybe justification for buying a first year model

Just recall how the first roll-out of the K1200S went like. I believe it was followed by several weeks of delay for the first shipments due to various defects.

(but since the R motor has been around, same with telelever you prolly can't go wrong with a 1st year model)
