Cans

My bike has the cat eliminator pipe on it and I don't know what brand it is, no markings, with the stock cans. Anyway is it possible to use aftermarket cans with the cat eliminator pipe? I'm trying to figure how. The eliminator pipe is a single to the stock exaust. Is there a 1-2 Y pipe to attach the aftermarket cans like the stock cans or are they joined together like the stock cans? Thanks.

John, here is a list of threads pertaining to your question...Hopefully you will see the answer in one of them, or maybe some pictures... with out a picture or knowing what brand you have, answers are not as easy. Here is the link

John,
Is there a support bracket there, down by the Y connector? if no, you've probably got a 2 bros. cat eliminator. yes? you can at least rule that brand out...

I have a Laser Sport Collector (cat eliminator) installed now, and a Two Bros. cat eliminator installed before that (still have it in the garage). Neither one has the support bracket, the biggest two differences are the fit and placement of the O2 sensor bung. The Two Bros. pipe actually mated to the header pipes better, and provides better clearance for removal of the rear shock's bottom mount bolt (no interference whatsoever, just like the pipe coming out of the cat). Also, the Two Bros. mounts the O2 sensor in the right pipe just forward of the Y. The Laser has the sensor mounted further back where it samples exhaust from both pipes, and you can b-a-r-e-l-y get the rear shock bolt out with the pipe installed. Both of these aftermarket cat eliminator pipes mated fine with the Laser mufflers.

Or you may have a laser pipe. Where is the O2 bung? Here's a pic of placement on my laser. I had a TBR pipe that had the bung located differently.

If you are running stock cans with a cat elim, i believe you can readily add Laser cans with no other mods. get ready for some growl.

I do have the support bracket but the O2 sensor is located in one of the pipes not after the Y. If I decide to get other cans I want to know if they will fit so I'm not throwing away money, which I'm doing anyway Will the cans come with the correct piping to fit my eliminator pipe or will I have to fab something? So my choices will be 2 BROs, Lazer or? Thanks.
