A slight image problem

This is NOT OT. It affects us all. I love to hooligan as well (or even more) than the Avarage Squid, but I choose my time and place so Mr. Sub-urbia doesn't take in my squid-show. If we could only school the rest of the mosikkle-riding Unwashed Masses.
Usta be noise and squirrels.
Then the RUB plague hit and no-one cared about the loud hardley as the neighborhood lawyer and CEO had 'em.
Now noise is a big issue. Again.
As is stuntas (I pronounce it 'stunt-ass') doing their thing down the freeway in rush-hour traffic.
I'm busy putting on saddlebags now so my scoot is less confused by the Heat with a gixxer-squid. One friendly Ossifer I talked to lately said if it was red and even remotely resembled a crotchrocket, it was in his sights. Saddlebags should help that. Gawd, I never thought I'd ride a bagger.
The local paper went out of it's way today to emphasize the three fastest recorded speeds busted by the WSP in an enforcement operation on I-90 outside of Seattle were motorcycles.
I'm preaching to the choir here (mostly). But we can all do our part.
I ride for 2 hours to get to a deserted-enough place where I can actually air 'er out.

" but officer this here ain't a red bike, its dog d1ck pink doncha know"

gigantic 07-13-2006 03:54 PM

yep, I had the hard bags on all the time, so I looked like a middle aged tourng rider out tooling around on his beemer, who just happened to get accidentally caught in a group of Italian biker trash... now if I ever got pulled over and Johny Law ever got a glimpse of my pony tail and baby face, i'd probably end up in the ditch, horse whipped with a bobby stick, but the tactic served me well. wish i still had the hard bags...

when I get pulled I LUV the look of the LEO's face when I pull off the helmet and he sees grandpa sitting there. Actually I really, REALLY like seeing their body language change to a more relaxed state also.

The bag disguise don't work I got a $275.00 ticket just outside of White Plains, Missouri a couple of years ago with my hard bags on. The state trooper said he got me at 84 but before he could push the button and lock the speed in I had broke it down to 72 mph in a 50 mph zone. My Escort 8500 gave me a small warning just as I met him at the crest of a hill. While He was writing my ticket 6 of my friend passed us, all of them were on crotch rockets and were flying well over 100 mph. He just smiled and said "looks like everybody is in a hurry today".

Last stop was w/o bags by county (I'd say Izard but you'd think I had a spelling problem) mountie. Unsure if matching grey bike & beard resulted in verbal warning. Motorcycle gods were smiling.

With Jony doing Stoppies while carrying his luggage, soon the word will be out.. The officers will begin profiling us law abiding, system case hauling, never doing wheelies, nor speeding especially at night time video shooting, fine upstanding riders.... ;)

From another thread...on clutches... :D

Other night, riding back to my place, my normal route is a senic shoreline drive along Tacoma's Commencment Bay.
The normal crowd of japsikkle squids are out.
I'm being followed at dusk by a kid on an R1. He had a leather suit on, at least.
I passed him coming up to a stop and then did a big brakie right behind a TPD car who's driver was too busy talking on a cellphone to look for violaters directly behind her.
Guy pulls up next to me, eyes as big as dinnerplates..
'that's a.....BMW!!! They're not SUPPOSED to be able to do brakies!!'
I said that was a myth. I then pointed at some cute girlie..he looked thataway and I turned off his killswitch as the traffic started to roll again.
hehehehehehe:)

every one thinks the cops cut me slack because i ride a stripped down police bike. any of you all have experience with this?

tbsstunta 07-14-2006 09:30 AM

What I always find funny is how its ok to act like a dumbass when you are young, but when you are older when the kids do it its ruining our image. :D

Funny old world eh.

tbsstunta;
the difference 'tween me and the kids is that I try very hard to do any foolishness FAR away from the madding crowd, prying eyes, joe civilian non-rider and a crowded rush-hour freeway. Even when i was a young punk (as opposed to an old one?) I tried to not be near any hostile eyes.
The kids nowadays hunt really hard for the biggest audience possible and generating hostility is an added side benefit....kinda fits the definition of 'punk' to me...
