Does replacing the end can & down pipe removes the CAT?

Hi all,

If I purchase a slip on exhaust systems i.e, the end can & the down pipe; does that automatically removes the CAT?

Does the the down pipe comes with lambda sensor?

Cheers

No, and no. That would leave the cat and sensor.

...you can find your cat as part of the headers ; in the current situation you just slip the new downpipe on to the cat...; wanna remove the cat, you've to go for a new set of headers (Laser, Wunderlich, maybe an other brand) or cut your OEM headers in two, and weld something together as an Y-piece...

...no suggestions over here...; that's the reason I'll stick to the original stuff...; I think it runs fine with it...

...and..., it's simply 'not done' these days here in Holland to make some noise...

???

...well, sorta. Most systems sold out there eliminate the cat altogether.
In case your wondering the catalytic converter is that big heavy hot box underneath the bike(between the headrers and the up pipe. The up pipe and cat are all one piece.

If you just replace the up pipe, aka cat eliminator, you retain the stock mufflers...cheaper way to go.

Otherwise, "full system" usually means from the headers back, not necessarily the headers themselves.
You get a collector y-pipe (2 into 1 into 2) or dual pipe (2 into 2 into 2), an up pipe (or pipes), and mufflers.

I thought duckman had an R11S...which would make this not true. Hey Duckman....put your type bike in the sig please. Makes it easier for folks to give you good info.

Sorry Bob & all, I have got the all black 06 R12S.

The CAT is with the header. Removing the down pipe or the mid section will not eliminate the CAT.

Removing the CAT means changing the header @ full system exhaust system.

Any other options?
