Spools

I've noticed on some of your belly pans you're using spools in the rear for a track stand. What's the hardware consist of and do you have any pics? I'm trying to deside if I want to buy the stock screw set with bushings or the spools. I don't have either right now. If any of you went with the spools is it all new hardware? If so do you want to sell your old bushings? The spools look cool though.

what are you talking about?
BMW offers one bushing / spool kit , for use with or without the belly pan, BCR or after market, single kit use as you like end of story, you need the BMW rear stand to work with this kit.

acidburn ,
Is it easy to use the stand with the belly pan in place,
or do you not have a belly pan?

Yes its easy to use with the belly pan, i am putting the BCR one back on soon, had it painted.
The kit comes with both options, with and with out belly pan.
The off set on the right side is different was the only thing if i remember right.

Dress'm up caps, cant remember who makes those but i think A$S offers them on thier web site, Use a touch of blue lock tight and cover the bolt head with plastic before you install them they snug up good and look great, very little weight addition, nice touch in real life.

Ah keeping the bikes clean, try to stay on it, the RT gets trashed the worst cuz i ride it any time in all conditions, cant beleive how much mud i washed off last weekend, the S, well its getting so nice that i ride it when its nice, keep it clean, even where you cant see, make me happy when i look at it, and when your cleaning, sometimes you find things not right, loose, tire issues, pays to get all over you bike every few thousand miles or so.
I usually give them a good looking over at oil changes, 2-2.5k.

Thats pretty much how I ride my S because I take it on longer trips and if it rains there isn't much I can do about it. The hardest thing for me is keeping in between the fins on the heads clean and the front engine cover which picks up all the road tar.

There are two sets of the new style 5Ys sitting at EMA waiting for a new owner. ABS-II bikes need not apply.

I'd like to see a pic with the belly pan installed so I can see the fit of the side stand before I butcher mine up.

Cool blue pipes! Well seeing you have the BCR side stand that's at least the lenghth I'll need. Still trying to figure out the length difference between the BCR and the "long" side stands.

Do you also have the " fat foot" on the stand and it still fits?

For the life of me I can't seem to find those frame caps like Acid has. I tried A&S and did a web search. If anyone knows where I can find them or what they're called to search for let me know. Perfect stocking stuffers!

found them at BMW of Santa Cruz.
