Got back last week from a small vacation. Contractor was supposed to pour a new driveway while we were gone. It was below freezing while we were gone so good timing for us but bad for the driveway. Still a muddy mess and waiting for a window in the rain now.

Took advantage of a 65 degree day to get some trail riding in over at Brock Creek.

Wonder why they named a creek after me? I don't talk in a steady stream...;)

It's more a bladder issue.

It's all the sun...

I'm having to let go of my park now...
All the tourists were back today.

I agree Signit, that is a beautiful photo, but I am partial to this one.

Ha.. that has been the background on my MacBook since ck first posted it...

Rob, honestly... he has posted so much good stuff now that it's kinda hard to discern... I believe he should produce a coffee table book (at least) if not posters, calendars etc.

The man knows his places and he has a knack for photography... his compositions are amongst the best you can find anywhere and his subjects just continue to strike every nerve they can...

You are definitely one of my heroes, Craig!

Steve is right up there with you in quality, but he does not have the variety of landscape you have... but the two of you certainly have made this topic something special - at least to me - and I want to express my profound gratitude at this point, to both of you...

In a way, Steve is the reason for Craig posting this stuff, anyway... :)

Steve Carlton 02-17-2008 05:56 AM

Craig was always showing us Utah's landscapes. I just elbowed him to get a DSLR. Now I'm grinding him to get a medium-format film camera. Resistance is futile...

signit98 02-17-2008 06:08 AM

...I am sure you will succeed - once again! :D

I think you coaxed him into the DSLR right around the time I came onto the board - a moment cherished by many, I am sure - so I am not aware that he was posting pictures before...

Since then, however, the two of you have been consistently posting pictures that are a joy to see... you seem to be more into the "livelier" scene, while Craig's rocks just don't move to fast...

I agree 100%, this thread is actually the one that got me hooked on this board, and the first one I go to to check for updates. I guess I like looking at pictures more than reading words. :)

You do nice work Craig.

ckcarr 02-17-2008 09:35 AM

Thanks! But you're embarrassing me! I just drive around in my Jeep, hike out somewhere and take a picture, and then celebrate with a Corona (or two)!
I just have the right tools: Jeep Wrangler, camera & lenses, and location.

Steve, Tom Till, the local "celebrity" photographer is switching from a full frame to digital. I need to figure out what he's now using.

signit98 02-17-2008 09:38 AM

Ahhhh, you just revealed the "secret ingredient"... it's the Corona... MUST BE!!!

Ralf,
Those that know him as "Craig" ;) all got volume 1 of his "Coffee Table Images" book as well as the laminated images coaster set ... for Christmas.... Not sure how you didn't get on his list... :D
