Strangely enough, I've had throttle locks and/or OEM cruise control on all of my bikes thus far, but haven't found the overwhelming need for it on my R1100S in the last 8,000 miles or so.

Of course, with this bike, I seem to seek out side roads and twisties, so I never stay planted in one place for an extended period the way I did on my LT or even my GT.

I've been doing a 100 mile a day commute- did some more research and found this:

I think I'm just going to buy a $10 cramp buster... although my wrist is not as big of a problem as my right hip - man I'm getting old ; 0

That's a hard price to swallow.

Sorry to be late in responding; couldn't log-in for a few days. Thanks for asking.

Nothing to it. Just a 28-cent spring you attach to the far end of the throttle grip (with a thread and a piece of electrical tape, say). Stretch it and fix the other end to the bar-end weight. If the throttle feels twice as hard to open, you've wound it backwards. Some would say it is unsafe in event of an unscheduled dismount to counter the entire force of the butterfly springs, so set it to any less degree of assist you want.

I have never heard of anybody else so much as trying this trivially easy mod since I started talking about it. What does that say?
