Shannon ride update, Is it still in Utah ?

Hi all,
could we get an update on the cowl and package.
The last I heard was it was in Utah waiting to head north.

We were planning on riding to AZ in August and were giving everyone who wanted to be their an advance date to plan their schedule. That seems to be blown out of the water.

We need to get a realistic schedule so that we can plan the BBQ for all the riders who have given their time, from all over the country, in this endeavor, who choose to come. IMO this is an important part of closure for all who had contact with Shannon.
Besides the party will create many new friends and renew old ones.

I'm guessing from the ride schedule in this part of the country that earily nov,(weekend of the 3rd) will be the next available target date. Any later than that and it will be the holiday/rain/flash flood season,(not good for a fun BBQ).

Please give us an update.
thanks in advance

jeff

I've been in Phoenix in October and it's still a toasty 95 during the day. Anyway, where is the cowl and where does it go next?

Flatbutt,
would sweetie be better
Ck and I've got a plan with alternatives.
What we need is some help in the Northwest if they want to be involved the the loop.
I've pm'ed JonnyRR and have yet to hear from him,(but in all fairness he's a very busy guy).
If we cann't get someone from the NW to cover some distance then we'll try to make a connection in Salt Lake City and move the cowl/package to Lake Tahoe assuming Ron Taylor, Steve Carlton, or someone else from Nor Cal can be talked into riding to SLC.
We have a third plan but that is a last resort involving a dog, a horse, and a sheep.
Best not to talk about that until needed and we have shots.
It is important to note that the cowl/package WILL NOT BE UPSed to a distination !!!
The time line to get it moving is 3-4 weeks max,( hopefully sooner).
cya

Wish i could handle the ride out there so's I could carry it again. Any merit to seeing if theres an ADV rider that can pitch in? Or maybe an Iron Butter?

Good idea! An ADV rider brought the package to me in Nebraska.

Sounds good to me as long as their is someplace to deliver it to that it won't get stuck.

I'm your huckleberry!

Jeff,

Count me in on the cowl journey.
I dont know how much I can do, but I'll definitely ride up (probably drag sergio with me), and do one last godspeed ride with Shannon.

ckcarr,
ask and you will receive.

Steve and Arbik,
ok, this is great, BUT we need to see if their is someone to deliver it to, in the NorthWest, that will get the cowl back to cali for the ride in late Oct.-earily Nov.
If JonnyRR doesnt get back to me by tuesday then IMO we should take it toward Lake Tahoe and into the NorCal group.
Opinions.

keep the shinny partsup,
please be a part of this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![img]

As stated in the above the potiental problem is the northwest,(unless you feel the need to ride thru the northwest and back down into Cali). Once we find out whos in in the NW we should be able to set up a route for you to take.
CK has said that he will ride as far north as SLC to meet someone after he gets back from sturgis,(he's slumming ).
PM me and we can organize the cali hand offs. I'll be riding with the SoCal riders and organize them.
cya and thanks.

You are south of Sac. is that right?

I am at Beale, a bit north of Sac. but I am heading back to Seattle approx. 17 August. If the cowl makes it here i can bring it north to Jony and others. I may have some time to ride east before I leave. Is anyone willing to get any further west from Utah?

Dean
