keep 'em coming Hugo! we know you have better ones than these. ;) |
That tail section with the exhaust is so cool. Seating position looks pretty upright and comfy to.
|
what show will this likely debut at?
|
The valve covers are different and seem to bluge where our R12S dont. This is very exciting. We are WAY ready!
|
wow...what the R1200S should have looked like to begin with. its not much of a pic, but THAT could be something worth buying.
repoe3 |
...we've seen that exhaust before...
...on one of the 3 black bikes, just before the Le Mans 24 Hours started... ...see if I can find the picture... |
...got it...
http://snelleeddy.punt.nl/upload/BMW_478.jpg ...the bike in the back... ...just wondering ; what will happen with today's R1200S...?? ...did they stopped production ? ...do we have a collectors-item...? ...or do we have something 'un-sellable'...? |

It'll probably end up like the gs and the hp2's
|
I doubt if the BMW R1200S will ever become unsellable Ron, even secondhand C1's are beeing sold. That exhaust on the bike in the back has got some similarities but I think the one in the new picture has a bigger opening at the back and also looks a bit bigger but still very cool.
|
...so ; after the double-anus exhaust, we now have a 'stingray tail'...??

This bike lust is killin' me.
What I want for Christmas: new R1200S HP new Aprilia Supermoto new R1200GS new Husky TE510 That should do it for another year. Man, I gotta quit surfin' internet motorcycle forums! |
Ohh, don't worry. This fall there will be a lots of picture of the R1200S HP on the forum. I will promise you that...

Overall engine width is less than a R12S, air box exit size has increased and the actual air-box may be larger as well, T Body size up 2-mm?, perhaps the wheelbase has been shortened, valve train may still be pushrod.......but even if it is it has been redesigned in some way, (I think the valve train is without push-rods) the aerodynamics of the new lowers is very sleek and overall wind tunnel test may read down into the low 3's, light rear rotors, modern front pinchers working on thin disc, serious brake and clutch levers with light weight line and carrier system, and of course the "no resistance" exhaust system, now working with valve timing and lobe ramp peaks matched to the H C (lite weight) pistons that have been select for higher RPMs and more work load..................all these are reasons for seeing some good prices come up for R12S units, now for sale, which have more than done their job to get us all ready for this new Street HP 2 and the performance it is going to offer us all. Come on BMW.............."If You Hold Back You Stay Back." Anything like we are seeing in the photos will be really something........count me in.

I like the look of the present r1200s better.
