CQ HIDs- feedback requested
Those who have been using the cqlights HID conversion setup- I'd like your impressions of the system. I've been running Xenon-Depot's Polarion system for about 4 years, and have been very pleased- no issues whatsoever, just great light. But with the CQ kits coming in at about 1/2 the price, I am sorely tempted to get a set for my g/f's R11S,
Quality of construction, ease of installation, life of items (bulbs, relays, etc), light output, etc. what say you?

About 6 mos. ago I installed the CQ on the H7 side of my bike as a replacement for a Polarion after its ballast failed. The component quality of the CQ is very good & so far I've been pleased with unit.

I did both the high and low beams a short while ago (~ 2 months or so).
The components look to be first rate. No problems with the actual operation of the lights but I did have some difficulty with getting the correct bulb for the high beam. The first kit for the high beam had the wrong bulb. It was a real pain in the ass getting them to take back the old bulb and send me the correct one. Eventually they did send a bulb that fit but it appears to be the wrong temperature -- the light color does not match my low beam. I had specified 5K and I think the replacement they sent is 6K. I am going to live with this bulb just because I don't feel like going through the exchange hassle again. Bottom line: good product, lousy customer service, spotty quality control.

Both high and low on mine for awhile, and I love them. Easy installation, almost plug and play. Just be sure you order the motorcycle kit. The ballast is smaller.

I have the low and high beam. My kit wasn't just plug and play but it wasn't hard to figure out. So far I am happy with them but I have only had them for about 3 months.

My CQ high and low work great. I mounted the ballast where the charcoal canister was located. I found the trick to getting the low beam lit off is to keep the starter button depressed for a few fractions of a second after the engine starts. If you let off the starter button as soon as the engine catches, I have a good chance the bulb won't light off and I get the front headlight bulb error on the display. I simple restart of the engine fixes it.
