I'm going on my R11SA with Pilot Road tires. The AlCan Hwy is paved all the way. I'm planning the eastern approach going up and back down the western approach and the Cassier Hwy. Don't plan to go on gravel from Fairbanks to the Artic Circle. A tough ride for a street bike unless you put some dual sport tires on. Gas shouldn't be a problem unless you get off the beaten path. I'm drilling the tank to get a little more fuel in the tank. I figure i"ll add about 25 mile to the range of the S. I plan to camp most of the time because you can pay $100 buck for a dump. The Milepost is the bible for the trek and Alaska by Motorcycle by Fraser is the primer.

If I adjust the depature date I can hit the BMW rally in Gillett, WY. Think about a couple of grizzlie S riders showing up with all that Alaska road crud on their scoots
