Don't forget tax, tag and title so now we're at 28k. This is fast becoming a nix bike don't you think. And NO bags. lol
I know there will be at least 200 fans that can afford a specialty beemer. It'll be a head turner at the rallies as you back it out of the covered trailer. I wonder if you could buy one and rent it for $200 an hour.

And, as with the R1200S when it was introduced, some BMW folks will have to start looking for barbacks, GPS mounts, bags & a big old trunk to stick on it. As to bags, if you have the $$ for the bike, just have the butler bring the bags in the helicopter.

Good! If it was cheap enough to consider upgrading to, I would be worried. You can buy two bikes for that price.

What great news! It, (MSRP) was out yesterday afternoon, and had all of us "pre-payers" feeling way vindicated for having dibbed up early. Mine's coming. I think it is the best current deal for the money in all of stock motorcycles available in American bike showrooms today. Bravo for BMW! That they would give us such a cutting edge air-cooled twin in our collective time makes the final cost in "money" mostly incidental. Lets buy them all right away and demand that the engine be put in all "S" designated production twins of the future.
Indeed, the word I personally have is that the "S" Model that will replace the current (not in production at this moment however) R1200S, will for all practical purposes be a R12S running gear with the new heads grafted on. Besides.........RUMOR has it that the new HP2 twin engine from the block out can be adapted to the R12S push-rod engine by which the exchange from the crank out occurs. Just rumors.................. May be that by GMR time this year, the roads will be dry and the air clear, with but a light wind, birds achirp in the trees, and very, very little traffic................................... Hey, I've already sat on the 17 bike. Did they take off all of the telemetry?

You lucky B***
![]() The telemetry ... i think they took some of it (on the Sport version) !? but the dash is from 2D and they deliver all components for telemetry on the bike for readouts on the track ! I read that you can put on a laptop on the bike after driving ....

Not according to reviews I've read, including a recent one in Cycle News...
"But the spacious, comfortable riding position..." "Giving lots of room to move about... " "The adjustable clip-ons... and eccentric mounts for the footpegs... allow this to be tailored to suit any riding stature, resulting in a balanced riding stance, without excessive weight on your wrists and forearms." "... yet don't feel cramped because the footpegs aren't as high as on other sportbikes." "The HP2 is comfortable, relaxing and confidence-inspiring motorcycle to ride fast and hard on, and will surely be a good bike for te long haul, just like the Endurance racer it's derived from." |

I've sat on Nate's race bike and a new HP2 Sport (civilian model) at the show and thought it was actually pretty comfy, sportbike wise. Not a whole lot moer radical than the R11S or my R12S. If you are looking for incredibly uncomfortable, get a Paul Smart.

I think this will make a fine slogan for this years GMR. Will look forward to seeing you there, Jim.
