I Got Mine
Picked her up last Friday. Got a great deal on a slightly used 2007. First impressions:
It feels great sitting on it. Seat feels comfortable and my feet aren't bumping into the rear peg mounts. I believe the bars are lower than my 99 (which has them mounted under the top plate). Looks like the length from the center of the wheel to the top of the plate is shorter? It tows great, strapping to the solid lower arm in which the front suspension doesn't come in to play. Can't believe I never thought of this before. Now if this freaking snow ever ends I can't wait to try her out. By the way if anyone is interested I will have an immaculate 99 for sale.

Rockford eh?
My brother lives there. Nice bike! Home of the first Harley Dealership too. Yet you chose BMW.

ckarr, it isn't the first Harley dealership but it is the oldest dealership that has been continuously owned by one family. It used to be the BMW dealership also. I bought 3 bikes from him. He split the BMW line off to another location which lasted about 18 months. No more BMW dealer in Rockford!

johnty288,
Did you buy that bike from BMW Grand Rapids? I'm not certain but that plate number looks very familiar. If so, that used to be my bike. Still haven't gotten over the sellers remorse. I replaced my R1200S with an HP2 Enduro. Maybe I'm just having the withdrawals because I haven't had a chance to ride the new bike yet ... but I think its because the R1200S is an awesome machine.

Nice bike
There seems to be a large amount of yellows for sale - I think it would be a lot better looking if it was all yellow- anyone have this done?

Just noticed that it already has its rear reflector pre-folded.

TCSport, yes I bought it at BMWGR. I was all set to buy one of the K1200R Sports when they were running the discount but a quick check on the internet revealed this yellow S. I bought it immediately. One reason I started the thread was to see if the previous owner might be on the board. Thanks for taking good care of it!

What mileage and extras were included, and if you don't mind, what did you pay for it.
I am still trying to find a used one, and knowing what you're deal was will help me out. Thanks |

johnty288, Glad it went to a good home. I truly had misgivings about selling that bike. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It is a fantastic machine! I sold it to focus my attention on adventure touring via chunky blacktop, dirt roads and two track trails. But I sure miss the S! ![]() Best, Eric

Droptarotter, I paid a little less than $12000.00 It has 2600 miles. It has the wide rear wheel, ABS, and the Ohlins suspension. It appears to be in perfect condition. Needless to say I am very happy with my purchase. For all people in the area, BMW Grand Rapids was a great place to deal with.
