Damn, SV racers have something to watch out for.

I can easily see one of those in my garage (or more importantly, the race trailer)
I keep toying with the idea of running an F800s instead of my SV, but this is way cooler still. Of course, the RC8 took like 3 years+ after announcement to make it out, so i suppose I shouldn't hold my breath. Oops, just noticed the report was from MCN. 80% chance it's rubbish. Too bad, I was getting excited.

Hey Roger;
This is what you want right here!. You're a relatively small guy, build-wise, right? not 6'2"/240...so this would be really cool. http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2008/Feb/080214a.htm

If it happens, it's gonna be way cool. But with the Duke 690 at $9500, figure somewhere north of $10K for a sportbike version. That's going to be a hard sell.
Take KTM's weights these days with a huge grain of salt. I doubt this thing will be under 300. I'll say one thing for KTM - they're consistent with their engine size exaggerations: the 620's were 605cc's, the 640's were 625cc's and the 690's are 654cc's. - Mark Last edited by markjenn; 02-16-2008 at 01:53 AM.. |

Well considering the 690SMC weighs a little more then 300pnds the weight is feasible but the 78hp seems a bit unrealistic:
http://www.ktmusa.com/690-SMC.100198.20.html?&detailview=2&cHash=da62385a81 Maybe they can squeeze some more hp but 13hp seems like a lot...and then piston change is every 500km or what? |
