Dallas Motor Officer Killed
There has been alot of recent discussion about law enforcement here. I thought some of you might like to know about this if you haven't already heard.

I think I saw that he was working the Clinton motorcade. Didn't hear the story or know that it was a mounted officer. Thank you for posting it. His family will be in my prayers.

That really, really sucks.
But it unfortunately also shows there is no substitute for experience. As a one month motorcycle cop, he probably should not have been part of the motorcade escort. Escorting a motorcade is a pretty specialized discipline which is often underestimated with not much room for error. We even have (and I know other countries have too) a special group that only does these kinds of escorts. And when they don't have an escort, they are training for one.
