R12S Brake lever span

My R12S has 15K on it, and I the brake lever is coming back almost to the bar ... is this an adjustment I can do myself ... or do I need to take it to the dealer ?

Apologies in advance if this is a newbie question ... but it is starting to get a bit scary.

Sounds like a bubble or something needing to be bled. If you have an ABS bike I'd let the dealer do it.

Mine did the same thing, too. Easy fix, but the dealer did it for me when I was in for service. They pushed the brake pads back into the calipers to send fluid back up to the master cylinder and also break the stiction between the pistons and the seals. Only took a few minutes and worked like a charm. I don't think they removed the calipers to do this, but it might be necessary. It's not something I would recommend a novice try to do. Another thing to try is pull the brake lever in only 2mm or so several times while tapping the brake lines with a screwdriver. Air up high in the system might bubble out and solve the problem, if that's what's causing it.
